Variable Message Signs (VMS) are electronic signs that display messages to drivers in real time. They can display text, symbols, and images, making them an effective way to provide information to drivers quickly. VMS signs are commonly used on highways, toll roads, bridges, tunnels, and other major roadways.
Variable Message Signs work by using LED or LCD technology to display messages to drivers. They are connected to a central system that collects real-time data about traffic, weather, and other factors.

Roadside emergency phones or call boxes provide fast,improved,and modern response to accidents or emergency situation.They use communication networks based either on OFC or GSM .The ECB are made available on either side of the road,the calls from ECB's are received at contol centre,usually located in the Maintenance and operations base (MOB)
Emergency Call Box System is an end-to-end solution for road-side assistance in case of emergency events. It is a robust communication system that comprises of telephone boxes installed at the highway and connected to a control centre for swift emergency response.
VIDS assists infrastructure controllers to detect and solve problems in the networks and increase safety level for drivers.Incident such as pedestrian ,stationary vehicles or vehicles on the wrong side of the road are detected automatically by digitally processing video streams.The VIDS shall detect incidents occurring in the selected area within the Camera Field of Vision for e.g. on Highways or, Cities or, Campuses and raise an alarm/event to the Control Room Operator & Software for further necessary action. Typical incidents derived using advanced Image processing and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
Video Incident Detection System(VIDS) System will be installed at the accidents-prone and other essential area identified by the enforcement agency and other vulnerable locations.The images taken by the VIDS camera shall be transmitted to the traffic management system/sub centeres through optic fibre cable in real time.In the TMC,images are selectively shown on the monitor display of VIDS workstation and VIDS monitor screen.If an incident occurs within the coverage area of camera ,operator shall be able to control VIDS camera remotely and check the status visually.At the same time images from all cameras shall be recorded and check the status visually .At the same images from all cameras shall be recorded on the storage device in specific in the specific period.
The camera shall be integrated with Road condition monitoring module for collection of road condition data and statistics.
The VIDS application shall be provided to the traffic management centre for receiving pre processed data from VIDS LPU on the project .The data collection interval shall not be more than 60 seconds.
